Jacob Schreiber is a professional drummer based in Los Angeles.

He began drumming at age 9 in his hometown of Las Vegas, and quickly demonstrated a special skill for the instrument, learning to play by ear and transcribe drum parts. In high school, Jacob played in the symphonic, jazz, marching, and pep bands and captained the drumline. He also performed at the Reno Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome, and the inauguration of President Barack Obama. At age 15, he was invited to take private lessons at CalArts with drumming legend Joe LaBarbera.

In 2009, Jacob’s drumming earned him a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, where he studied drum performance and composition and formed a band with his neighbor, singer-songwriter Pam Autuori. As XNY, Jacob and Pam toured across the country and released two EPs and a full-length album (produced by Brian Viglione, drummer for the Dresden Dolls, violent femmes, and Nine Inch Nails). During that time, Jacob also studied extensively with Matt Johnson (drummer for St. Vincent/Jeff Buckley) and joined Gallant Entertainment, a New York-based drumline. With Gallant, he performed in front of stadium crowds for the New York Giants and New York City FC, and at corporate events held at Radio City Music Hall and Jones Beach Theater.

Beginning in 2016, Jacob began to perform and record with TOMI, Autuori’s project under RCA Records. With TOMI, Jacob has recorded with producers including Alex Hope (Troye Sivan/Tegan and Sara/Alanis Morissette), Mike Crossey (The 1975/Arctic Monkeys/21 Pilots), and Craig Silvey (The National/Arcade Fire). He also toured internationally as both a headliner and as support for the likes of Electric Guest, Amy Shark, Sasha Sloan, and G-Flip.

Since moving to L.A. in 2018, Jacob has contributed to recordings for artists including Janelle Sullivan, K. Flay, Bishop Briggs, and Miya Folick; producers including Joe Gallagher, Elliot Kozel, and Seton Daunt; and film composers including Jackson Greenberg and Garrett Gonzales.

Jacob now has 10-plus years of professional experience under his belt and is comfortable playing a range of genres, - pop, alternative rock, folk, blues, R&B, Hip-hop, funk/dance, Jazz, orchestral, latin - in any recording setting. He plays with energy and strength, and is comfortable running playback and trigger samples via pads and electronics (either in Ableton Live, or solo in an SPD-SX/TM-6). More importantly, he puts his fellow performers at ease with his laid-back, encouraging presence and wide-ranging skills. He now performs regularly across the country with L.A. bands TOMI, Mothica, and Sheare.

Jacob is 6’ 2” and 170 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and he makes a mean cheese cake. He’s happiest when he’s behind a set of drums.
